Oh did I mention that my husband got to his appointment 35 minutes early today because he had to drive 2 hours to work right after and there was not a single person in the waiting room or in the back being seen and they made him sit for 35 minutes in the waiting room before calling him back. Just absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. TERRIBLE!!!!
I had issues not getting tests scheduled, at the hospital where I work, because staff told me they need prior authorization from my insurance. I tried to explain that I didn't but it still took over a week for them to call BCBS and find out it wasn't necessary. The staff apparently doesn't ever check the fax machine or know how to fax. I would wait 45 min or longer to be seen, just to have him walk in for 5 minutes and never once examined me. Records were sent to another specialist with normal physical exams. None of my symptoms were noted or were listed as normal. This doctor had not physically assessed me in years. I talked to his office manager about it and she kind of blew it off. He used to be a good doctor, now he's in a rush to get you out, and onto the next one. If you're looking for a thorough doctor with good staff then this is not the place.
I drove from tenaha to lufkin today and my appointment was at 9:00. So I got to his office at 8:55 this morning. I walk in to sign in and that place was so packed, people was saying they had an appointment at 8:15 and here it was close to 9. So as im waiting more people come in and you have people in what chairs he has in his office and some was standing and then you had people outside waiting to be seen. Well an one hour and 55 minutes later im called back. The time was 10:55 when they called me back. Had one lady call me to the window and ask me my name? Like I wrote it down in the sign in sheet how did they miss that. So I go to the room and mind you im here for my results from my EEG last week. So the nurse gets my information and says he will be in shortly to see you. Well he comes in and says how are you and I said not good after waiting and hour and 55 minutes, Dr. Benitez looked right at me while drinking his water bottle and says to me you can reschedule and went to the room next door and slammed the door and went in that room for a few seconds or so and they was bringing another patient back in the room I was in. He is a very rude Dr and so is his staff. If I had the option of this place I would give them negative stars, but that isn't an option.
The office staff here is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if I could give zero stars, I would but they don't allow that! My husband was seen by Dr. Benitez in the hospital and diagnosed with Epilepsy. We started seeing him for several months and while he is nice, he allows his nurses and office staff to be RUDE, INCOMPETENT, DISRESPECTFUL AND so much more I can't say on here! They throw faxes away without even checking to see what it is so my husbands blood work from6 MONTHS AGO hasn't ever been received. They also didn't verify his insurance for his appointment today and AFTER he had seen the doctor, the lady at the front said he had to get a referral for TODAY (usually takes at least 48 hours) or they were going to bill us for the entire appointment. I don't care how nice of a doctor you are.... when you allow your office staff to act that way, it's completely unacceptable. We will be finding a new neurologist ASAP because I refuse to allow my husband to be treated as if he's just a piece of trash. If you've been referred here, I highly recommend finding a different doctor! This place is awful!
