A decent hotel, but it is showing its age. The entire building smelled "wet". Good for a short overnight stay.
Carpet is rolled and uneven enough that you can trip over it
I usually stay at this hotel when I come to lufkin to visit family, usually 3 x a year.
I guess I'm going to find another hotel on next trip. This hotel has gone down the hill. It needs to have a face lift. The walls look dirty, the carpet looks and feels dirty, the toilet had been repaired and was installed at a slant. Bathroom floors looked dirty. The breakfast was OK always same stuff. If they would do some repairs and updates I would continue staying here but I can't give them a 9 for this trip. The staff was very pleasant. Bathtub need to be refurbished or replaced the paint was peeling off.
Hotel has been Neglected!
The overall stay was good, but we were a little disappointed when we pulled out the sofa-bed for our son and found the mattress wasn't very clean. They cleaned it the next day when we mentioned it. And other than that, everything else was good.
Was put up here on a business trip using hotwire. The hotel looked nice and the room looked nice, but the door didn't close properly, the phone didn't work and the room was musty smelling. The carpet was loose also. Told the front desk about it, but nothing was done. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Guess it was truly one of there discounted rooms for a reason. The pool area was great also.
Sheets on bed felt damp from the moisture in the air. Ask for another room and it was the same way.
Walls are marked up - front to back, floor to ceiling. Looks like someone defined gravity and walked all over the walls.
Room smells damp and moldy
There is 2 good things about this hotel, parking lot is will lighted because it's better out there than in the room and customer services is good because they apologize for everything that's wrong with your room.
Rooms....
Bathroom looks good tell you start looking. Toilet moves, had to put the shower head back in the wall because it fell out when changing the water direction. Then when you go in at night to use the bathroom and feel like you are not alone and turn the light on and see the roaches crawl out of my bag and sink.
I have always stay in the same suite/room but this time I was in another room.
Mattress seems old and attempted to make better by adding a pillow top to it. You sit on the edge to remove shoes and find you are now sitting in the floor because the mattress edge is sagging.
