Had a horrible experience at this hospital last week with my elderly father. He was in need of immediate medical attention. They released him with a fine bill of health. Next day back to the ER because he couldn't stand at all. Had multiple wounds from the constant falling, that they wouldn't treat. 3rd trip to the ER, they wanted to release him again. I refused to pick him up, so they finally came up with a solution. If you have an elderly parent that is ill find a different health care facility.
I was a patient at CHI in Feb & Mar of 2016. I had several visits (ranging from ER, imaging, OR and MedSurg floor, day surgery and OR again). I was transferred to this hospital because the hospital where I work did not have the medical staff on duty to care for me that night/day. I am a healthcare professional myself, and I received nothing but the best here at CHI! I’m so thankful they could provide great care for me when I needed it!
I was transferred to CHI from a freestanding emergency center for my gallbladder to be removed. Everything was an easy transition, surgery went well, and my nurses were more than compassionate. I will always appreciate everyone who helped with my care!
Went in as an out patient for an MRI. After waiting a week for an appointment I was told to be there at 2:30 to register and MRI at 3. I did not get called to sign paper work until 3:15. Took 5 minutes at the most. Then waited until 4:10 for MRI. All the staff was very courteous thank goodness. I had to take off work to have this done. I spent an hour and 40 minutes of time waiting. I was told this is normal practice. Poor customer service on the hospitals part!
I went to the assessment area looking for my father. The staff told me he had been moved upstairs. When I asked the easiest way for me to get there a guy named Dillon told me to use the elevator. Him and another gentleman began laughing. I'm not familiar with this hospital and was not amused by him trying to be funny. The lead nurse however is very pleasant and took good care of my father. Maybe Dillon and the other gentleman can learn something from her.
