Been here a few months for work. Continuous problem accessing room. Hotel key card doesn't work. Management attempts to blame and accuse me of placing cellphone by keycard. Housekeeping is rude at times and refuse to clean room properly. EXCEPT for one phenomenal housekeeper Laura. My charge rate is per week but management attempts to switch days to accommodate their billing. Very confusing and disrespectful. Once my work contract ends i will never stay at this hotel again.
I had no problems at all, service was decent and the staff to. No breakfast though :/ but I was able to grill out without being hassled :)
Two stars only because the staff was friendly and accommodating... kudos to them. Now, the rest of the story. Room was filthy, hadn't been vacuumed in quite a while, phone did not work, no coffee pot in room, room smelled bad, stains on the walls, and a huge gap at the bottom of the entry door. I'm really shocked that Choice Hotels would allow this property into their portfolio.
There is a nice restaurant as part of the motel. The check in was easy, and I like to have a good vibe when I come to a new place I stay the night. At Quality Inn Lufkin, I wasn't disappointed. the woman who checked me in greeted me authentically, and we had a nice conversation about Lufkin and where I could get food. That means a lot to me. The microwave and fridge were immaculate. Solo travelers save bigtime on food costs when they have great motels to stay at. All good. thank you Quality Inn Lufkin.
If you wonder why the prices are low at this Hotel, it's because this hotel is a freaking dive!!! Rooms stink. Local punks up all night partying, making noise, can't sleep. Called cops, they won't do anything. Almost got into a fist fight with one of them who dissed me, just asking to turn down the noise at 2am. Never again this dump.
