We were traveling back to Houston on labor day and stopped to eat at Applebee's in Lufkin. When the manager learned we were from Houston they comped our meal 100% and didn't have to! Thanks Applebee's in Lufkin!
The food was hot and fresh. The server was amazing. It took about 20min for the food, but its a sit down restaurant and it was busy. Gotta give them credit.
If you can, ask for waitress Courtney J. She is awesome every time we go. The food is great and the mood is light. Good family eating. Enjoy!
Excellent salmon and baked potato!! Delicious. Friendly staff coming in and going out and an overall pleasant atmosphere. They were willing to split our plate for us, something most restaurants don't like to do. Portions were generous. We will make this a regular stop when traveling through town again.
Waitstaff was fine, but menus, tables, windows were all sticky and dirty. Flies were a nuisance. I had to step over trash bags to get into the restroom which was obviously old and not well kept up. Food is ok, but not good; tea is not good. My medium rare steak came out well done. We went in at 10:45 on Sunday morning, well before church crowds when there was only one other table occupied, and it took about a half hour to get our food. When we spoke to the manager, she was barely polite and her apology did not seem sincere. We were not satisfied at all. It'll do in a pinch, but we will never be back.
